Commercial EPC’S

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 was implemented in phases up to October 2008. The regulations introduced new statutory requirements for buildings to have Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and for certain buildings to have Display Energy Certificates (DECs). Inspections of air-conditioning systems are also required from January 2009.

The introduction of EPC into the commercial sector has been phased over the whole of 2008, culminating in nearly every building within the UK requiring an energy assessment when constructed, sold or rented.
